Key dates and process

Faculty Director
(Business, Creative and Service Industries)

Huntingdonshire Regional College

The key dates for the selection procedure which you should keep available if you are applying. For information on what to submit please see “how to apply”.

Initially applications will be dealt with as they arrive and dates agreed with individual applicants.

Sometimes we use a two stage process for appointments and sometimes a single stage. If the process is in two stages the first stage will be initial interviews to enable us to make a final shortlist of about 3 or 4 candidates who will move to the final selection event. The two day final assessment will normally be a full first day and a short second day with a little flexibility on timing, but please keep both dates free if applying. Using a two stage process enables us to do two things:

  1. Keep your time investment to a minimum unless you are very close to getting the job

  2. Enable the panel to see a wider range of candidates at the initial stage

It also avoids the “announce the results in reverse order” that some processes require to reduce the candidates on day one.

Where we have been unable to arrange a two stage procedure this will be because our client has special requirements which we always do our best to fulfil.

In some cases initial interviews will be held off college site to reduce candidates’ exposure although this is more common in Principal/CEO appointments. All arrangements made, however, vary according to our clients’ requirements.

If you would like to discuss your application, or the process, please call Stephen Gribble on 08451 203835. We are here to offer help and advice to prospective applicants so do call if you have a question.
